This rare, imported DVD contains four episodes from the ‘Treasures of the World’ series:

• Porto: Impressions of a Defiant City - Portugal
• Robben Island - South Africa

In striking pictures, shot on 35mm film, the TV programme ‘Treasures of the World - Heritage of Mankind’ tells the stories of World Heritage sites in hundreds of different episodes.

This extensive series explores some of the world’s most remarkable historic treasures in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and the Americas.
This far-reaching video production features important world monuments and investigates fascinating people, with a particular focus on architecture, visual arts and ancient history.

Through wonderful footage of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, identified for their lasting value to humanity, viewers will get a glimpse of the world’s rich and diverse cultural history.

The series is still regularly broadcast on German television (SWR Südwestrundfunk), where it is known as ‘Schätze der Welt – Erbe der Menschheit’.

The DVDs of the series were released commercially in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, where the series is known as 'The Heritage of World Civilizations'.
(it should not be confused with ‘Lost Treasures Of The Ancient World’, which is a very different series of DVDs)

Each episode runs for approx 12-13 mins.
There are 4 episodes per DVD and the total playing time per DVD is approx 50 minutes.
