“Follow the adventures of the hardy and aggressive Namaqua chameleon as it struggles to protect itself and its unborn brood from dealy snakes and cannibalistic cousins”
The harsh environment of an arid desert, cannibalism, deadly snakes, and territorial struggles may not seem an ideal place to rear young, but the Namaqua Chameleon is a ferocious little dragon, defending her patch against all comers and in this film, we follow one female.
From shedding her skin, to laying her clutch of eggs, and her struggle to protect them at any cost, we see her faced with many battles to defend her territory. She must face up to many dangers including deadly snakes, and even larger cannibalistic chameleons in a daily battle for survival.
The hostile yet breathtaking wilderness of the Namib Desert, 2000 miles of vast sand dunes, is the setting for the intricate study of this amazing Namaqua Chameleon, the first on this extraordinary animal. The Namib is able to sustain a host of desert-adapted creatures that have managed to thrive using the meagre resources on offer.
Dragons Of The Namib will show the unique desert adaptations of this chameleon, searching out food and moisture.
