“I hope and believe that in the near future we will be flying over practically every corner of the world, and that the airplane will unite more closely the nations than they are today.” Charles Lindbergh, 1927
Climb into the cockpit of an exact replica of the Spirit of St Louis for a riveting re-enactment of Charles Lindbergh’s record-shattering flight across the Atlantic.
Charles Lindbergh captured the world’s attention following his successful trans-Atlantic flight in the ‘Spirit of St Louis’. At 25 he was the youngest ever to receive the prestigious Hubbard Medal Award presented by the National Geographic Society.
His triumph in the air would precede a life of controversy and notoriety, as well as a devotion to the environment. It was a life that changed the world.
When Charles Lindbergh flew solo from New York to Paris in May of 1927, he linked two continents and in so doing, became the most famous man on Earth or above it.
Using an exact replica of Lindbergh’s plane, The Spirit of St Louis, the film re-enacts the tension-filled flight.
It also recounts the mounting excitement felt by thousands of people on each side of the Atlantic, which grew more frenzied with every passing hour of Lindbergh’s unprecedented journey.
