Protected by only a stick with a miniature camera on it, zoologist and big cat trainer Dave Salmoni is on a mission to prove that humans can live in harmony with wild lions.

In the wild, lions kill people who come too close. So says every shred of evidence, but Dave Salmoni claims that lions are more wired to accept people than attack them. The collateral for this claim is to be his own life - or death.

Into the Lion's Den brings viewers to the edge of human-animal interaction. It tracks the adrenaline inoculated months Dave spends walking, unarmed, deeper into the killing zone of a pride of wild lions. Until he's within a few murderous paces...
